DECIDING THE RANGE OF PE RATIO OF STOCKS LISTED IN NEPSE IS....I AM OUT OF WORDS. SELECTING STOCKS DEPENDING ON PE RATIO IS A GOOD IDEA BUT NOT THE BEST, IN GENERAL THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF STOCKS NAMELY VALUE STOCKS AND GROWTH STOCKS. PE OF VALUE STOCKS IS STRICTLY RELATED TO THE INTEREST PROVIDED BY THE BFIS ON FIXED DEPOSIT AND THAT OF THE GROWTH STOCKS IS HIGHLY INFLUENCED BY THE GDP GROWTH. SO IF APPLE AND FACEBOOK, REGARDED AS GROWTH STOCKS (FANG) HAVE SO LOW PE, AND BFIS OF NEPAL ARE PROVIDING 11% RETURN (FIXED DEPOSIT/DEBENTURES), I AIN'T BUYING ANY STOCK IN SECONDARY MARKET.
LET ME REGRET FOR THE FOOLISHNESS OF OTHERS BUYING STOCKS OF PE ABOVE 20 IN THIS FINANCIALLY DIFFICULT TIME. ALL THOSE BUY STOCKS ARE NOT TRADERS, AND INVESTORS ARE NOT BUYING AT PRESENT. |

I have been saying, Average PE ratio of Nepal should be 30-35.
But so called, expert media teach people to choose company with PE ratio of around 12. A also been saying, in the world, PE ratio of around 12 means, that company could go bankrupt or loose big business in Near future. I gave example of GE of US whose PE ratio was below 15. Today, its PE ratio is below 7. If Nepalese mentality had to invest in US, they would have chosen GE and said what an idiot americans investors. Great company like GE and its PE ratio is below 7. Must be my lucky day. I just won a lottery. Are you sure? Media is saying, GE share is about to be declared Junk!!!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Attractive PE ratio company to invest is 35+. Around 25 means no growth. Around 15 means could loose business or even go bankrupt. Apple, face book PE ratio is around 20. Alibaba's PE ratio is 40+ |

In Nepal, so called expert and FAKE news been teaching wanna be investors about buying shares of low PE ratio. Lower the ratio, higher the return. Below 15/12 PE ratio is preferable.
Few weeks ago, I little studied PE ratio of US and India. What my simple studied found out that, in those countries, Those companies whose PE ratio is below 15 means, those companies could go bankrupt in foreseeable future. Those companies whose PE ratio is below 35 means, they could loose business in future. And Those companies whose PE ratio is above 35 find lots of interest. In US, GE had below 15 PE ratio and very soon after I did this study, they had to sell their one of their plants/business. Company like amazon has around 300 PE ratio. In the world, I found highest PE ratio of up to 7000 and lowest less than 1. In Nepal, in majority of case, the difference in PE ratio between good and average company is less than 10. That's huge buying opportunity for long term investment. Since, In Nepal, they taught investor to invest in low PE ratio, and those who follow this advice have lost in foreign stock market, which I heard. 🐱🏍 |
