The company may or may not explicitly mention what happens to the fraction share. If they don't than the fraction share is given when it becomes a whole share. ie, if you have 57 shares and get 10% bonus then 5 shares are paid out with .7 remaining on record.
Some company eg BPCL when they give out cash as well will round out the share and not keep fractions. eg 57 share, 10BS, 10Cash, they will give you 6 shares and deduct Rs30 from your cash after tax and deposit remaining amount.

You will get 5 and the remaining .7 will be reserved in register and be sent
in your account afterwards when it will be 1.

Hi there,

I am new to the share market.

If I have 57 shares and the company provides 10% bonus share. How many shares I should get?

5.7 ~ 6 (rounded) OR 5.7 ~ 5 (floored)? and why?

Thank you in advance for your answer!
