Thank you "new man" ji. I did know about the basics. But the last paragraph was what I was looking for. I do hope that our senior members will elaborate more on it.
Thank you once again.

Promoters are the ones that promote (incorporate) the company. Typically, the promoters are the shareholders of the company at the time of incorporation i,e. they are the first subscribers to the Memorandum of Association (MoA) of the company.
Shareholders the ones that are owners of the company, who hold shares of the company. Shareholders need not be promoters of the com. In most of the countries the stock market hasnt categorized the share as promoter or ordinary. Recently in nepal also bank and financial act has been amended so that in future we wont have to categorize promoter and ordinary share.. there is nothing huge reason behind the difference between the share price of promoter and ordinary share. there are some hassles while buying the promoter share (for e.g income source, tax clearance, etc ) and due to the high supply of promoter share lead the difference between them,,,,,,,,, This much from my side.............. baki aru kura ko lagi hamra digaj sathi haru rising sun & co haru le bhannu huncha hai |

Dear all,
I have been following NEPSE since last couple of years. But I only participated in IPOs back then. Now slowly I am extending my foray into the Secondary market as well. The RED for me is an opportunity for long term investment, though I might be a sentimental fool here. Also, I see that many companies has listed both Promoter Share and Ordinary Sale with different price values. I wonder why is that so. Like I do have ordinary shares of NIB and when I see the Promoter shares of NIB trading at much lesser price, I get tempted to sell my ordinary and instead buy the Promoter ones. Can anyone please elaborate on the above ? Thank you in advance. |
