What about Soaltee Hotel? Its Par Value is Rs.10. This company distributed Rs.32 cash per share but it was called only 32%. In fact, it should be stated as 320%, right??? Must be an exception in the case of SHL.

Cash dividend is calculated in par value. Most of the shares have Rs 100 as par value.
If X company with par value Rs 100 says it is going to give 50% dividend, then dividend = 50% of Rs 100. Market rate of the company has nothing to do with %age of dividend. |
