Regarding who are the Depository participants::
Siddhartha Capital ACE Capital Ltd. Civil Capital Market Ltd and branches of Civil Bank Nabil Investment Banking Ltd. NIBL Capital Markets Ltd. Laxmi Capital Ltd. NMB Capital Limited Everest Bank Limited Stock Management & DP Ltd. DPs are providing this service through their associated commercial banks as well. Like, BO account can be opened with Siddhartha Capital through all the branches of Siddhartha bank as well. Similar for Civil bank, NMB bank and I believe for other banks as well |

Sathi ji. Its same as opening a bank account. Go to any DP (Depository Participant) authorized to open Dmat account like, siddhartha capital, ace capital. Ask for the BO (Beneficial Owner) account opening form. Fill the form completely. Submit you PP size photo and copy of citizenship. That's it. You will be charged with NPR 150 only (100 for annual fee and 50 as registration fee). DP will give you your BO ID which will be used for trading. Regarding what to do with paper certificates; fill up and submit Demat request form and your original certificates to the DP. Further process will be conducted by the DP itself and will handover to you a holding statement which shows the details of securities you have surrendered for dematerialization. The securities will be dematerialized and added to your BO account from where you can conduct trading. It's not as complicated as we investors are assuming.

There are very limited investors who have opened Dmat account. This shows that there are very very limited buyers. Which of course means that the bargaining power of buyers will be very very high as there are whole lot of sellers. So if this situation is to continue, I believe, all the investors in this forum can just imagine the situation up front. So I request all the investors to open dmat account today itself. We say, these large investors, brokers and other vested groups are taking undue advantage over small investors. And, ultimately when time comes to tackle such interests, we small investors are the ones who are hesitating. Why so??? If you think that you can at least sell ur stocks, even if you do not open dmat account, then my friends I say you are totally mistaken. Even though the law allows, the market doesn't. And even if you managed to, at what price???
So I urge all the small investors, not to just wait and watch the market and placing selling orders expecting it will be sold in a day a few, but to hold all your stocks and rush to DPs to open BO accounts. I have already opened and obtained my BO ID. |

Due to so called Andolan called by the Maoists and its 22 fringe parties, I am not sure about the trend about Nepse. Let us hope the small investors will ignore them!
