This is pure mathematics leaving any rooms for view, opinion....you may simulate of your own.. Or look at EPS and diluted EPS...for which accounting standard has prescribed its rules.

If bonus issue were to guarantee as much success as Nabil, this approach would have been written in golden letter and there would not have been any inferior companies to Nabil.

To be able to issue handsome bonus gives indication to the effect that company had earned great profit in the past, however, bonus issue (which is irrelevant if company issues bonus share or keep the profit as reserve) is not pre-condition to keep momentum for growth or does not guarantee the growth.

What would have happened if Nabil did not issue bonus shares? It's reserve would have ballooned, cash would be with it for re-investment, it would have earned the same profit but EPS would have been higher and market price of share would have been much higher.

Still speculative investors profit from bonus shares is because of mass psychology that bonus issue creates wealth - profit comes from loss of new investors or ballooned price of shares.... When balloon burst, you know who suffers...

Then only shares with logical PE ratio survives the burst.

Dear Sustainableji, you may be right to some extent but I am not completely satisfied with your view.
Bonus share will not always dilute the earning power of share..It can be in short term but for long term, investment opportunities can be utilised by the cash and business growth is a phenomenon which goes on increasing that will grow accordingly with strength of company.
For simple...let's see NABIL, it's maintaining same ratio of dividend each time for increasing shares also..

There should not be any reason why share price increase with the declaration of higher dividend /bonus. Technically speaking, this decision should not affect share value. If bonus is issued, this will dilute the earning power of each share, and value per share should be proportionately reduced. So is the case with dividend. Dividend issue reduces reserve and surplus - it is no different if cash remains with the company or returned to customer. This is purely a financial decision and does not affect the earning power of share.

Reason being investors are desperate about higher bonus / dividend is because their approach is very short term. They want to earn profit in short term and walk away. Nepalese share market is run by insider trading / rumor / speculations. I have hardly seen investors in Nepal who consider EPS, PE Ratio and other relevant KPIs over speculation about rate of dividend / bonus and think of long term approach, say for 3-5 years. This market needs to grow up.

Dear Dhurbaji, what u said are sweet but it can be in in words only....
In reality no body knows whether market will increase or decrease...If anybody know the downfall and upward...This could be tree of money.
I think holding during decrease and entry and exit at a targeted prices of good stocks is quite more practical...just sharing my views not opposing u..

Market ghatera sabai ley bechna thalda aafu kinne ghatayara ... market jun bela badchha aani badayara bechne ... Easiest option ... go against the most of the investor then you will earn.... Dherai expect nagarne paisa lai rolling garairakhne ....
