multiplying with .1222 is given in a web site to convert kbps into KBps

Ke garnu I am from management background and not computer science.

Hero ji, sharing ratio is not sharing at home, its in their system. I should check facebook wall of subishu.

Thiz is the most awesome topic i have ever found at this forum.

Talking about sharing ratio, adsl has no sharing ratio but most isps have either 1:6 or 1:8. Private ISPs dont allow you to share your internet service but adsl .....share as much as you can. Adsl damn care about torrents but Isp s care and cut off.

Personally i have not used subisu but if i see facebook wall of subisu, lots of complaints can be seen.

ADSL service depends on the many factor, major factor include distance from the telecom exchange to your home, copper line should not have many connections/breaks/knot in between distribution box and your house, connections within your house and proper use of analog-digital splitter. These factors are universal.

NTC doesnt make any phony claims. If you pay for 192 kbps, you will get 192 kbps. I dont think you still understand the difference between kbps - bandwidth and KB/s - transfer rate.

I dont know about private ISPs but I havent experienced any downtime even during 12 hrs. loadshedding.

so we have to multiply their phony claim by .1222. like 196kbps=196*.1222=24KBps. Shree5 ji.

During night, internet is usually faster Big Brother ji.

Suibishu has not updated their web page or i did see problem in their offer.

Wish there is a trial period.

I have been using computers since August 1995. My first one was a Windows 3.1 on a Intel Pentium 100Mhz with 32 MB RAM. I have been subscribing to internet since 2000 with WordlLink unlimited internet. When NTC started ADSL service I switched over to it.

Dear Shree5, kbps=kb/s because full form of kbps mean kilobyte per second (Download speed.)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ram Ram Ram!!! K bhaneko tyesto Bimalman ji.

kbps=kilo bits per second.
KB/s or KBPS= Kilo bytes per second.

Akash jamin ko farak cha.

Please search Google for conversion of kbps to KB/s.

192 kbps 24 KB/s huna aauncha. This is not because of sharing ratio of 8 people.

Bimalman ji, mero list ma subisu nai top ma cha. may be, kartik ko end ma linchu hola. STN to karti end ma siddincha. STN co channel ma pani dhari problem cha. So subishu le dubai problem solve garcha. subishu ko channle offer check garnu parcha.

Shree5 ji, Diber ji le ADSL le 8 jana sanga share garcha bhannu bhayo.. tapai le ADSL ko speed 192kbps bhannu bhayo. tara down load speed 24kbps bhannu bhayo... so calculate garda 24=192/8 garda 24kbps huna ayao.

In my computer the download speed is 14kbps when it is functioning smoothly.

Subishu's speed is 265kbps, they say they dont share like ADLS does so I have to talk to their IT official.

Hoina hoina Rising Sun ji 192kbps/8=24 bhanna khojya hoina. I wanted to say that 192kbps is the bandwidth which means you get a transfer rate of 24KB/s. KB/s and kbps are two different things. Please search google for the difference between kbps and KB/s.

Dear The Rising Sun,

As soon as I get few more options Bimalman ji.

Thanks for reminding sharing ratio Dilbert ji. Hope they dont change the ration after their consumer increase.

192/8=24kbps Shree5 ji.

Ask more user Newbies ji. I am dumping ADSL cause its slow and there has been problem for months now.

Hope other ISP companies too issue shares to public like NTC, Bullroar ji.

I am using web surfer now and thinking to move towards ADSL because my speed any time is 24kb/s which I think is low compared to other's. My friends ADSL speed is upto 64 kb/s so I thought it was better. However world link is also not bad idea. my second option is world link though

@Dilbert, NTC ADSL service doesn't have any sharing ratio like that of private ISPs. 192kbps which translates to 24KB/s is for 24/7.

One thing you need to ask them is their share ratio. NTC's ADSL has ratio of 1:8, which means if you subscribe to a 128kbps service, you will get 128kbps/8, however it may go higher if the traffic is low. Worldlink has either 1:6 or 1:8 depending on the service you have subscribed to, and I believe other Nepali ISPs have similar packages.

One more thing you need to note about unlimited package is that if you use P2P services like Torrent, ISPs like Worldlink will cut you off if you use it too much. NTC on the other hand doesn't give a damn if you use it 24/7.

Bimalman ji, I did contact them yesterday, price looks to be the best around (internet+TV). But want to know download speed . My friends say, its down load speed is 20kbps during day and 100kbps at night... far better than ADSL (14kbps during day when its functioning smoothly) there has been problem for months now. I no longer have patience.

I want to know download speed in different homes since I have to invest a few thousand extra just to install.

Thanks.
