It is true, during bull all you hear is good news and in bear all bad.
Few years ago, all went after life and ignored general insurance. Then general insurance tripled then all retail and medium trader went after general insurance. Hope, same thing happens in Development banks. We need player to triple it then it will be followed by laggards. Hope to see majority of development bank priced at 1000-2500. |

Most of dev banks will be acquired by banks. Very low price. Return, around 50% more when acquired.
Interest rate crisis broke the back of SADBL, now the crisis is almost over. Its time SADBL to fly, and highly likely to be acquired by good bank. And did not increased a bit yesterday and hardly increased today. SADBL!!!!!!!! |

If you had invested 1lakh 5 year back in MNBBL, today it has become about 16lakh.
Wish I had 3 crore that time. One crore in MNBBL and 2 in some other. http://sharesansar.com/c/if-you-had-invested-rs-1-lakh-in-stocks-like-ntc-nabil-chilime-5-years-ago-heres-what-its-worth-now.html |

development bank and finance's cost of fund and cost of operation is far high than banks. But they are suppose to demand consession in CD ratio 3/4% more CD ratio which will generate more funding money. this would help them remain more competitive than by increasing spread rate. something is better than nothing, though. |

So you still have not invested in MNBBL, someone ji?
Go through 6/8 quarters BS report- study PE, Growth, future prospect then choose handful. Today too dev banks looked strong. If this is true, next week will be very interesting. |

I agree that dev bank has higher cost of fund and cost of operation too than banks.
Govt/NRB/Dev banks have three option to deal with- increase spread rate, Decrease CD ratio requirement and decrease tax. I am less keen on increasing spread rate (may be just .5% more interest rate). Higher spread rate than banks make them less competitive, they will have to charge more to their customer which will put more pressure on customer which will lead to higher NPL. So I support decrease CD ratio requirement than bank and lower tax. Few days ago, I read, in China, CD requirement for big banks is around 16% of depositors money and for small banks around 13%. CD requirement looks higher in China too than I expected, may be cause their govt lends a lot of money to chinese bank too. Bureaucrats are suppose to make right policy, but in nepal they get paid salary to do nothing and charge bribe. and get extra income and visa for destroying nepal from enemies. |
